Open Space at Sopori Ranch

There are only a few places in the world that rival the area’s beauty and grandeur. And while the land remains as it was when the Spanish missionaries and explorers first arrived here centuries ago, much has been done to protect the environment for future generations. Nearly one third of Vistas at Sopori Ranch has been set aside to preserve its scenic arroyos, hillsides and unique wildlife habitat and to give residents access for hiking and outdoor recreation.

Building Envelopes

The building envelope is a predefined amount of area within each Vistas custom homesite that sets boundaries for the amount of space that can be developed. Homesite owners can set the building envelope anywhere and in any shape they prefer (exclusive of setback boundaries). Building envelopes are designed to protect views and the environment, while enabling the community to achieve its goal of open space preservation.

Each homesite has a generous building envelope in relation to its size. Outside the building envelope, the land must be left substantially untouched with natural vegetation. The result is a community that respects the land, the views and the harmony between neighbors and wildlife.
